Jumanji is the first live dealer game associated with the film entertainment industry. It’s a partnership that Playtech and Sony signed a few years ago, so it’s great to see the game come to fruition.
The game has unique features, such as the 50% back when you get a Jaguars head and the Multiplier given on the total bet amount in the Saving Jumanji Ceremony feature. Having a bonus round without needing a bet is a feature Playtech has used in Adventures Beyond Wonderland, so it’s great to see it in use here.
If you’re familiar with the film, you’ll see little nods to the film all over the game, from the characters to the Jumanji Stone to the bridges in the Monkey Valley and Nigel the host. The health levels feature in the Jungle Royale Bonus. It’s also the first bonus round to use arcade-type play – another first!
The game plays well and feels nicely balanced. Some Bonus rounds are more volatile than others, and my experience has been relatively low wins on all bonus rounds. The bigger wins need respins or multipliers activated by the character symbols. If the Saving Jumanji Round is triggered from the Rhino Run or Path To Jumanji Bonus Rounds and you get the next level version, you’re in for a minimum payout of 101x up to 1569x, but with a multiplier, you could get the 5000x.
Play speed is relatively quick, and I could turn my bankroll over many times, giving me plenty of playtime.
You must play the game a bit to understand what’s happening. The two wheels work well together but are confusing until you know how the second wheel works and the characters’ impact on activating the multipliers on the betting grid. Once you have that, the game makes more sense.
Some aspects could be improved, such as the statistics and indications of what is happening during the Saving Jumanji Bonus Round.
